This piece is a scene from Yellowstone National Park on the Madison River. At one point we had lived in Cody, for several years before moving back to the ranch in Colorado. We use to spend a lot of evenings in the park taking photos and sketching. This is from a series of works that I did of the bull elk playing in the river one evening. I love to paint water so this was a natural one for me to do.  At one point there was six of them splashing and hopping around. I've done several paintings of this piece but this was the only one I did prints of.
